In the recent unfolding of events, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday has asked Tamil Nadu Digital Cable TV Operator Association to revoke the legal notice issued against it due to the implementation of the new tariff framework and deferment of revised charges by Star India. The regulator issued a letter dated January 4, 2022to the legal counsel of Tamil Nadu-based cable TV operators group stating that the association is advised to take back the legal notice as M/s Star India Private Limited has intimated about deferment of all changes made in its revised Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) filed on October 15, 2021....

Twitter has not yet complied with the new IT rules made for social media applications/platforms that have more than 50,00,000 (50 lakh) users in India. The new IT rules are made in order to keep the platforms accountable and solve the grievances of users/customers appropriately. Companies such as Facebook, Instagram, and more have already complied with the new IT rules, but Twitter has not done so yet. This was due to the layout; two large tweets stacked on top of each other,” The Verge quoted a Twitter spokesperson as saying. As a solution, the micro-blogging site now puts the original tweet in a smaller, indented box with the user’s avatar still visible, and it makes their media full width, the report added....

Vodafone Idea is now offering 3GB daily data with prepaid plans of Rs 249, Rs 399 and Rs 599 to select users. The three plans usually ship with 1.5GB daily data. Earlier, the same plans were part of the company’s Double Data offer, however, the offer is now valid on 2GB daily data plans of Rs 299, Rs 449 and Rs 699. The Rs 249 plan comes with 28 days validity, followed by the Rs 399 and Rs 599 plans with 56 days and 84 days validity....

According to the American Communications Company Viasat, if India decides to auction spectrum in 28 GHz band for 5G services, it might just be risking losing about $184.6 billion by the year 2030 in terms of economic value. The company added that it could become very difficult for India to take advantage of the space economy without the presence of a millimetre wave (mmWave) spectrum in Satcom services.
