Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, two of the top telecom operators in India have concluded their spectrum trading deal. For the unaware, the telcos had announced about the trading deal earlier this year where Bharti Airtel had agreed to transfer the rights of its spectrum in the 800 MHz band in Delhi, Mumbai, and Andhra Pradesh to Reliance Jio. Reliance Jio has awarded Nokia a multi-year deal and will purchase 5G RAN (radio access network) equipment from the company. This will be the first time Nokia and Jio are working together. Jio will purchase 5G RAN equipment from the AirScale portfolio of Nokia. Since it is a multi-year deal for Nokia, it would be a big win for the company in the Indian market. Reliance Jio has brought a new prepaid plan for consumers. This plan comes for Rs 222 only. It is a 4G data-only voucher, meaning that customers would need a base prepaid plan to utilise it. Samsung India on Thursday said that it has joined hands with Facebook to teach digital marketing skills to offline retailers across India. The company said that its initiative will aid its offline partners become part of the online ecosystem and communicate with a larger consumer base. Samsung said that the initiative will also aid consumers as they can access the product catalog and purchase devices from local retailers.
