Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Tuesday reintroduced its “300 GB Plan CS337” in multiple circles across India including West Bengal and Sikkim. The 300 GB Plan CS337 enables users to browse at 40 Mbps speed and serves as an entry level monthly plan for the operator in select BSNL circles across the country. BSNL initially introduced the 300 GB Plan CS337 in December 2019, on a promotional basis for a period of 90 days....

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Wednesday revised its Special Tariff Voucher (STV) 99 plan with unlimited calling facility to include free Personalised Ring Back Tone service (PRBT). BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle highlighted the plan through a tweet. The operator charges Rs 30 per month as the PRBT subscription costs. Further, BSNL charges Rs 12 from users for each song selection with the songs said to be valid for 30 days....

BSNL Rs 999 Plan Gets Additional 30 Days Validity Extension As mentioned above, BSNL reduced the validity of Rs 1,188 Marutham plan to 300 days in Chennai & Tamil Nadu circles. The same treatment has now done to Rs 999 voice-only plan as well but in a positive way. Talking about the benefits, users get unlimited voice calling capped at 250 minutes per day to any network within India for a period of 240 days....

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) are not profitable even after saving a ton of money annually. BSNL saved up to Rs 10,000 crore annually. It brought down its annual expenditure from Rs 34,400 crores to Rs 24,687 crores mainly because of the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) scheme that became a part of the revival package. Even after saving all this money, the telco won’t be profitable until 2023-24....

The All Unions and Associations of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (AUAB) opposed the Government’s plans to raise Rs 40,000 crore by monetising BSNL’s towers and optical fibre and a proposal to restructure manpower. “The present Government’s plans for raising Rs 40,000 crore by monetisation of BSNL’s infrastructure, towers and optical fibre, was severely opposed in the meeting. The management’s proposal for restructuring BSNL manpower also came under severe criticism,” a source close to the development said....

The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) urged the government for a reduction in licence fee to 1% in its budget wishlist, and it requested remission of customs duty on network equipment for the rollout of 5G as well as the elimination of the Universal Service Obligation Fund, or USOF. DeeNet Services Pvt Ltd is a broadband service provider based out of Karnataka. Its broadband services aren’t available countrywide but only in select parts of Karnataka. The company has recently started providing unlimited plans at low costs to compete with other internet service providers (ISPs) such as Airtel, Jio, and BSNL. The ISP is providing plans starting from Rs 399 per month which offer up to 50 Mbps downloading and uploading speed....

Changes Affecting DTH Prices Under New Rules One of the prime reasons why subscribers used to prefer Dish TV or D2h, for that matter, over the other DTH operators was because it was shipping lower Multi TV pricing for the subscribers. However, now the competition for Dish TV will be more as now every other DTH operator will also be forced to offer the secondary DTH connection at the 40% of the NCF being charged for the primary connection....

Dish TV and D2h on Friday removed the 30 days lock-in period that the operators placed on several bouquets including the free-to-air (FTA) packs and broadcaster packs. Additionally, the operator also removed the 30 days lock-in period on a-la-carte channels. However, the 30 days lock-in period continues to be enforced on the custom curated packs of Dish TV and D2h. It has to be noted that Dish TV removed the lock-in period for its channels and add-on packs in early 2019, however, the operator re-introduced the lock-in period by mid-2019....
